Masquerade for a good cause

Formal wear, just add a mask!

Formal wear, just add a mask!

Grab your ties, put on that killer dress and disguise behind that perfect mask.

This fall, the UNLV Catholic Newman Community is hosting a Masquerade Ball for all students to raise money to build a chapel on campus.

“We find it incredibly important to build this church because our center is too small for the number of parishioners we have,” says Grant Davis, 22, former evangelization and outreach peer minister.

The fundraiser will include dinner and a silent auction that will benefit the estimated 7,000 Catholic students that attend UNLV and need a bigger chapel to pray in.

The Masquerade Ball will be held Saturday November 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Marietta Tiberti Grand Hall in the Richard Tam Alumni Center at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Tickets are $50 per person and student tickets are $25. Click here to buy online.

If you would like to volunteer, you do not need to buy a ticket and we only need you between 6-8 for ticketing or 10-11 to tear down. Contact Zeamer@unlvnewman.com if you are interested.

The silent auction begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature art from local artists. A dinner buffet will follow at 7 and music from local artists from 7:30-10. Wear cocktail attire and bring a mask or pick one up at the door.

Tickets are available by phone at 702-736-0887 or in person at the Newman Center, the orange building located behind IN & OUT next to the residence halls. Office is open Monday through Thursday from 10am-5pm. Please RSPV by Monday, October 26.
